Dynamics 365 Transformation Readiness Assessment

Write a brief explanatory answer for each question. Describe the current situation, supporting evidence and any known gaps — not just yes or no.

1. Can every member of the executive team articulate, in consistent terms, why this transformation is happening and what business problem it solves?

2. Is there a documented definition of transformation success, expressed in measurable business outcomes rather than project milestones?

3. Are the trade-offs between business units explicitly acknowledged and resolved at the executive level?

4. Do all executive sponsors share a common understanding of the programme's scope, including what is explicitly out of scope?

5. Is there a shared understanding of what the organisation will need to stop doing, change, or accept as a consequence of this transformation?

6. Has the executive team formally agreed on the priority order when business objectives conflict during delivery?

7. Is there a named executive sponsor with a documented governance mandate, including defined decision authority and time commitments?

8. Are decision rights documented for all major programme decision categories, including who decides, who escalates, and at what threshold?

9. Does a functioning steering committee exist with the authority, attendance, and cadence required to govern the programme effectively?

10. Has each business domain involved in the programme named an executive owner who is accountable for outcomes, not just delivery participation?

11. Has the organisation assessed its change readiness, including the capacity of business teams to absorb the operational changes the programme will require?

12. Is the organisation's data governance mature enough to support the data requirements of the Dynamics 365 programme, including migration, quality, and ongoing management?

13. Are the business benefits expected from this transformation documented, quantified, and owned by a named executive?

14. Is there a post-go-live value realisation plan that extends executive governance beyond the programme's technical completion?

15. Does the executive team have a shared understanding of what the organisation will look like operationally 12 months after go-live, and is that future state documented?
